The MultiMix 4 USB FX mixer has a two-channel, five-stage, multicolor LED meter for visual monitoring the main output level. Ideal for live sound engineering or home recording, MultiMix 4 USB FX features onboard volume, pan, and EQ controls for making quick, accurate adjustments to your mix. A stereo, 1/4" headphone output has its own level control for private monitoring. You can also plug a guitar or bass directly into channel two's switchable high-impedance input. You can plug XLR microphones into channels one and two, including condensers thanks to the selectable 48V-phantom power supply. The MultiMix 4 USB FX mixer has four input channels, all of which can accept a 1/4" line input. It outputs line-level analog audio and stereo 16-bit, 44.1/48 kHz digital audio over USB for recording low-noise, CD-quality mixes directly to your Mac or PC. This compact mixer is perfect for computer-recording setups, intimate live-sound environments, video-editing and production studios, and portable podcasting setups.

google ASIO4ALL, download it, unzip it, install it, then change your DRIVER MODE in Sonar to ASIO.MultiMix 4 USB FX is a four-channel desktop mixer with a USB digital audio interface that lets you mix live, in the home studio, and record audio directly to a computer. it should, it does for most of these units, but I can't guarantee it. IMO you have 2 choices:ġ) take/send it back and get your money back and get a better interface (I have recommendations on my website) (Best option, IMO)Ģ) you can try ASIO4ALL and see if that helps. it uses the USB CODEC and those are not written for efficient low latency recording. Thebillshow: unfortunately for you the multimix 8 USB is not a great unit IMO because it doesn't have its own drivers. the OP wants to use the multmix as a soundcard (usb). No disrespect intended, but you're not using the multimix the same way and there's a very good reason you're not getting latency - you're only using the multimix as a mixer, not as a soundcard.

You should be using drivers for what ever audio interface you are using. I dont use the Multimix for playback so my setup may be different to yours but it works. The Mulimix mix main outs are going to my sound card and to get the led meters working I use the "mix to ctrl room" switch. I dont have the echo problem when I select input monitoring. I have the same Multmix as you and all my recording programs work, that is with no or very low latency. We3nt into sonar's preferences and fooled with latency and output settings no luck. Extra info: I installed sonar a year after installing my drivers for alesis multimix, not sure if thats causing problems.

I've read a ton of stuff about turn off direct monitoring but no descriptions of how to do it with my mixer or if that's my problem.

but once I hit Input/Echo in sonar there's a delay even w/o efx from guitar rig. I can't figure out which routing buttons to push on mixer (i.e' 2tk to mix/2 tk to ctrl rm/ mix to crtl rm) I can hear dry signal fine.

I am hearing a latency issue with the effect. I've spent 3 days on line trying to figure it out with no luck. recording fine but I'm trying to use guitar rig 4 with recording. I got a version off Sonar X1 and would love to start using it instead of cubase. Hello, I am extremely new to home recording! I also have the Alesis Multimix 8 USB 2.0. Help with alesis multimix and sonar X1, latency issue, direct monitoring
